Try Not to Burst From Happiness at the Sight of Bubble Ice Cream Cones
A bubble waffle ice cream cone is as adorable as it sounds. It’s basically the prodigal food-child of Hong Kong’s increasingly popular egg waffle and a bubble waffle maker. Cauldron Ice Cream created this magical combo (also known as the Puffle Cone) last year and has caused a dessert frenzy in the sweet-tooth community since then. Here’s our version, so you can make it at home.

Directions
- In a bowl, whisk together egg yolks, milk, vanilla, butter, and sugar until combined. In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk in the egg mixture until well combined. Add in sprinkles and mix until combined.
- Using a hand mixer, beat egg whites until they reach medium peaks. Fold the egg whites into the batter in thirds, until incorporated.
- Heat the bubble waffle iron and then pour batter evenly onto the bottom plate carefully. Use a wood spoon to spread the batter evenly over the bottom plate. Bake for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the waffle turns a golden brown.
- Carefully remove waffle from the iron and fold into a cone. Once cooled, add a scoop of ice cream; top with chocolate shell, mini cupcake, Pocky, animal cookie, whipped cream, and sprinkles; and finish with a cherry.

A Meritage of Sight, Sound and Taste
May 7, 2016
Times: 6-9PM
Venue: AIA North Carolina Center for Architecture and Design Area: Downtown Raleigh
Admission: $ 35; Under 21 $ 5
Now in its fourth year, Meritage began when Triangle Strings and the Raleigh Wine Shop decided to bring together fine, antique instruments and their bows from the classical tradition and pair them with a wine of the same caliber and region. This collaboration resulted in an intimate and engaging experience for attendees, in contrast with the more formal concert hall or museum setting in which one would typically encounter instruments of this quality. While the selection of instruments and bows varies every year, they all fall into the category of rare and historically significant.
