Midtown Bluegrass: Love Canon with Tellico

May 15, 2016
Times: 2-7pm
Venue: Midtown Park
Area: Midtown Raleigh
Admission: Free

This bluegrass double-header explores some of the varied directions bluegrass music can be played in the hands of different musicians. Love Canon (4:30-6pm) is a band of classically trained musicians who play some of your favorite ’80s tunes in a bluegrass style, while N.C.’s own Tellico (3-4pm) plays original tunes rooted in bluegrass. Tellico is also one of only 30 bands selected as an official IBMA Bluegrass Ramble showcase band for the 2016 World of Bluegrass. Before the music starts on stage, musicians ages 18 and younger are invited to the park for a facilitated youth jam. Concertgoers can relax on the grassy lawn of Midtown Park and enjoy time with family and friends. Live acoustic music will fill the air, and Southern BBQ and craft beer will round out the event. Lawn chairs, blankets and coolers are welcome at these events! Please do not bring outside alcoholic beverages – there will be beverages available for purchase at the concert.
