Exhibition: Object Lessons

October 16, 2015 – February 13, 2016 (Recurring Daily)
Venue: North Carolina State University
Area: West Raleigh/N.C. State Univ/PNC Arena

A selection of over fifty ceramics from the past three decades explores a wide range of forms, glazes and techniques from an array of contemporary ceramic artists. Curated by Dr. Charlotte V. Wainwright, retired director of the Gregg Museum, Object Lessons draws upon the Greggs vast permanent collection to reveal remarkable aspects of our pottery heritage, while suggesting how these pieces can be used in new ways, both for teaching and inspiration. Dr. Wainwright is author of The Remarkable Potters of Seagrove (2006) and co-author of Architects and Builders in N.C. (1990). The Gregg offers students and public alike a major resource for the deeper understanding and appreciation of ceramics as art, craft and utilitarian design.

*Please note that late hours for D.H. Hill Library are only for N.C. State students, faculty, staff, and others with a WolfPack One access card.
