The NCMA welcomes indie folk heroes Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros as they unveil their fourth album, "PersonA," which Rolling Stone calls “the band’s most risk-taking, freewheeling album yet.” The “big-hearted, big-chorused” (The Guardian) band began in 2007 as a whimsical collaboration among friends. Frontman Alex Ebert once described them as a “merry band of pranksters” playing music with “childlike freedom,” but over time, their growing proficiency has ushered them in more rigorous directions. Often described as “Beatlesy” with gospel and psychedelic influences, the Zeros featured alongside Mumford & Sons in the Grammy Award-winning documentary Big Easy Express. Then, Ebert won a Golden Globe for his score to the film All Is Lost. The band recorded "PersonA" in its single-room New Orleans studio. “There’s something about getting in tune,” says Ebert, and audiences revel in the harmony. "PersonA" was released on April 15. Event takes place outdoors in the Museum Park.
